Watershed Management Bureau Current situation About 45 full and part-time positions. 8 – 10 interns in the summer. 20+ programs 12-15 funding sources ~ 12 year history with current organization Declining budgets, challenges ahead Collecting less data than in past We do a pretty good job at what we do, but we can do better.

Watershed Management Bureau Purpose To better organize the Watershed Management Bureau to gain efficiencies, better focus on mission critical tasks and to better utilized the skills and experience of WMB staff. To be better placed to handle opportunities (eg. new grants) and challenges (eg. Federal budget cuts) without deterioration of core mission activities. To better define the role of WMB within DES and relative to other organizations throughout the state. To better communicate the information and products that WMB creates and houses.
