How to be successful on your Pre AP Geometry Tests
2
Plan Ahead Complete assignments as soon as they are assigned. When you miss a problem from the assignment, mark it so you will remember to go back and study it. Ask for help when you don’t understand. Either read each section before you work problems, or at some time before the test. Always refer to any teacher-prepared notes when you are working on assignments, and read them again before the test. Always check odd-numbered answers in the back of the book as you go.
3
Multiple Choice Questions Work through all the problems that you know how to do first, then come back to the others. See if you can eliminate any choices. If you are uncertain about how to work a problem, is there any way you could plug the answers into the question and work backwards?
4
Open Response When answering a question that is written in sentence form, answer in sentence form. Re-state the question in your answer so that if someone where reading your answer without reading the question, it would still make sense.
5
Example Question: What appears to be true about the diagonals of a parallelogram? Answer: The diagonals of a parallelogram bisect each other.

General tips PRACTICE working the problems that you know will be on the test. Practice by re-working the problems that you missed when you did your homework. Read the sections and any notes provided by your teacher to help prepare for tests. Look in the Chapter Review section at the end of the chapter. It has a nice summary as well as practice problems (with all the answers to these in the back of the book). Refer to the reference material in the back of your book.
