Strengthening Events for LHS What are things we need to strengthen when planning events? How can we work on those things? Be specific Do NOT critique one person… it needs to be a THING we can work on

Leaders take Risks, Leaders Make Decisions, Leaders Set Goals Today’s Objectives: Identify, risks, decisions, and goals (personally and as a team)

Leaders Take Risks What is a Risk? A risk is an action you choose that has either positive or negative outcomes. What Risks have you taken as a leader? Positive? Negative?

Leaders Make Decisions How can we make more informed decisions? Being intentional Thinking about end results Educate yourself How can decisions impact a leadership team?

Six Steps to Great Decisions 1. Identify the problem (or situation) 2. List your options 3. Consider the possible consequences (pros and cons) 4. Consider your values 5. Make a decision and act 6. Evaluate the outcome This does not need to be a huge process, just a quick mental check before acting without thinking

Leaders Set Goals Why do leaders set goals? Is it important for a team to have the same goals? What are some positives for having different types of goals from people on the same team? Make SMART GOALS- you will be more successful S-specific M-easurable A-action oriented R-Realistic T-Timely

Eagle Leaders Risks, Decisions, Goals On your own, answer the following: What risks are you willing to take this year as a leader? What type of decisions will you need to make in the view of a leader? What are some of your goals this year as a leader? Be ready to share out a few

Risks, Decisions, Goals Watch Remember the Titans- fill out list sheet: Identify Risks (Positive and Negative) Identify Decisions that were made Identify Goals that were set Be ready to relate these to our leadership team

Remember The Titans- DISCUSSION Now, that you have identified risks, decisions, and goals, answer the following: What does this look like at LHS? How can our leadership team be more successful with the risks, decisions, and or goals we choose?

Binder Set Up Front of your Binder- Name and words and pictures that describe you as a leader Inside Syllabus packet very first thing Revisit/reread your syllabus to have an understanding of what we are looking at! LHS Leadership Vision and Mission Statement Tabs: 1. Leadership Lessons Evidence for grade 2. Events-planning 3. Reflections/Assessments 4. Eagle Cohorts/Groups 5.Contract Events

ASB/Leadership Calendar Before I make copies, we need to set dates we all agree on: View dates for assemblies, events, etc. Choose monthly events Friday lunch time activities (monthly?) Etc.
