What is a blog? “Blog” is short for Weblog Blogs were created in 1997. They are known for their ease-of-use. You do not need to know html to create a blog. Blogs are online diaries and communication tools. They are used by the media and by individuals to share thoughts, opinions and ideas. Bloggers have influence in the world of media, politics and pop culture

What can you do with a blog? On a blog a user can: Post up-to-the minute information Include pictures, video and links to other site Archive information

Are you sure I don’t need to know anything technical? Two buzz words you might hear related to blogging: OPEN SOURCE RSS FEED

How can I use a blog in my classroom? A way to share information: post assignments, a syllabus, resources for students. It can also be a connection for teachers and parents. An instructional tool: students can post online journals, chat for group work, submit assignments or create online portfolios
