2. Maries parents were both teachers.

3. When she was born. Marie Curie was born on November 7, 1867.

4. As Marie got older she got jobs to save up money for college.

5. Marie graduated 2 nd in her class at the Sorbonne collage.

6. Marie married Pierre Curie in 1895.

7. Marie and Pierre discovered radium. It took them four years to create it.

8. Maries first child is born in Paris in 1897. She named her Irene. Here is a picture of her. Irene’s in the middle.

9. Marie and Pierre share a Nobel prize in physics with Henri Bequerel for the discovery of radio activity.

10. Marie becomes the first female Professor at Sorbonne in May 1903.

11. December 6, 1904 Eve Curie is born.

12. Pierre Curie Maries husband is killed in a traffic accident.

13. In spring 1912, ground is broken on the French radium institute.

14. In 1915-1918 Marie &Irene develop & operate mobile X-ray units to treat soldiers in world war 1.

15. In May 1921 Marie visits the USA to raise money.

16. Marie dies in the French Alps in July 3, 1934.
