Options 2014 There are 62 places available for triple science. We start with the wishes, motivation and ambitions of the students… We use the end of KS3 assessment and the three assessments taken before Christmas, as well as our earlier tracking data, to help us to select.

What effect will this have on my child’s future choices? Post 16: The option your child takes has absolutely no effect on the post 16 courses available to them.

What effect will this have on my child’s future choices? University courses: Science courses apart from Medicine will not consider GCSEs beyond 5 GCSEs including English and Maths. Medicine requires 6 GCSEs at Grade A and above including two Sciences. No stipulation of which Science GCSEs. If you have any queries, contact the admissions office of the university that your child may have their heart set on. Remember not all schools offer triple science so there should be very little requirement for the 3 GCSEs.

How can I support my child? All students will be given revision guides with questions and answers in the back to assist with personal assessment. How can I support my child? Use of language. Use of data. Magazines Ask children what revision sessions are on at specific times, such as end of Yr 10, Yr 11, Mocks. All staff will be willing offer their time to support individuals - just ask. There is ALWAYS something they can do.
