BALTPORTS-IT - IST-2001-33030 ____________________________________________________ Baltic Sub-Regional Competence Centre Among others, BALVA provides insurance for sea and river vessels (HULL), third party liability of ship owners and charterers for damage to cargo during shipment, for health and injury of passengers and crew members, for injury done to third persons and damage of their property. Under the conditions of vessel insurance, BALVA indemnifies losses caused in the case of complete shipwreck or a vessel’s disappearance; expenses for removal of damage to the vessel’s hull, machinery and appliances; costs in the case of a general average of the vessel; vessel’s salvage expenses; expenses for prevention, reduction and assessment of loss. The following formal methods were used at this phase: Business System Planning (BSP) Method; LIS Technology. A set of business charts, interface tables and communication diagrams was created in this phase.
