2 Brand Extension  Brand Extension- Refers to the use of a successful brand name to launch a new or modified product or service in a new market.  What we think it means- It uses another brands name to correct its product/service.

3 Branding extension Example The original Snickers bar is a shelf stable candy. The brand extension is a similar product, but in a different form. Jell-O Portable Pudding and Pudding Cups is Jell-O pudding in a different form and section of the store.

4 Brand Extension Example Peanut butter is a characteristic ingredient in Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups candy. Chocolate is a characteristic ingredient of Hershey. Brand Extension Research identified Reese’s Peanut Butter as a logical extension that capitalizes on this association. Research also suggested Hershey chocolate milk.

5 Strong Branding  Strong Branding-Has the power to create business value and impact more than just corporate revenues and profits margins.  Strong branding- also creates competitive advantages command price premiums and decrease cost of entry into new markets and/or categories  Strong brands reduce business risk and attract and retain talented staff.

6 Strong Branding  Their products meet needs you didn’t even know you had and their advertising skews to the young (and young at heart) with trendy music and splashy, colorful graphics. This is one big lesson in innovation and advertising success. No matter the economy apple al ways seems to make so much money. They made 8.8 billion dollars in profits Even with the bad economy

7 Co-Branding  Co-branding is the practice of using multiple brand names to jointly promote or market a single product or service.  What we think it means- A combination of multiple brands working to promote one product

8 Co-Branding Example Reebok and marvel partnered to launch a limited edition sneaker collaboration featuring shoes inspired by some of the most popular character In the marvel universe including wolverine Spiderman and captain America among others. The co-branding kicks were available online and through footlocker retail stores.

9 Co-Branding Example Apple - Nike Nike (NKE) and Apple (AAPL) brought music and exercise together when they developed the Sports Kit, a wireless system that allows shoes to talk to an iPod.
