Hints break the question down in to simpler parts, the way you would during office hours Students can choose just the amount of coaching that they need. A smart student may never use a hint; thereby completing her homework quickly and efficiently. A struggling student may need to open every hint. Any student in between may self-select hints to provide just the right amount of scaffolding she needs to solve the question. Many of the Hints are Socratic in nature, emulating the Instructor / Student office hour experience.
