6
First Step - RECRUIT General Recruitment – on-going efforts (ex New Parishioner Packets, surveys to parents, invitations to parish organizations) Specific Recruitment – advertise your need for volunteers (ex Ads in bulletin, newsletter notices, etc) Targeted Recruitment – Personal invitations to individuals to help with specific programs. Find lots of ideas HERE http://media.volunteermatch.org/docs/101S ecrets/VolunteerMatch_101Secrets.pdfHERE

Second Step – Screen/ Interview Our Archdiocese has a procedure. PGC class/ Volunteer Application/ Background Check Ask your Parish office and be diligent or visit www.rcan.org.www.rcan.org Interviews are helpful This PDF (http://www.oursharedresources.com/Res ource/ViewResource/303 ) is a good starting point for learning more.http://www.oursharedresources.com/Res ource/ViewResource/303

Third Step - Appoint Volunteer position agreement Dates of appointment Key responsibilities Who is the supervisor/ contacts What are non – negotiable’s/ rules Signed and kept by you and the volunteer Find a sample HERE (http://www.oursharedresources.com/Reso urce/ViewResource/597 )HERE
