Social Initially occupied by Tupian natives and they always focused on warfare Being similar to Spain, used slaves The new villagers were very manipulative in getting the locals

Economic Used the natives economy to benefit the portuguese economy there. Relied on cheap labor Started the sugar age which drew attention from crown
