Interaction among major societies The Persians were known for their war ethics against other groups. Invaded Lydia, Babylonia, Macedonia, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, and Palestine. Attempted to invade Greece several times, but failed.

Continuity and Change Persia had many cultures in one. The People adopted the customs of other cultures. The capitals made good use of the materials and artisans. Cyrus (The first king of Persia) honored Marduk, a city god. Honored the god because he wanted to be a legit successor to Babylonian throne.

Impact of technology and demography The Greeks when they fought each other had more technology. They used the Water Wheel, short knives, bow and arrow, lassos, and lances. When Persia became a civilization, they gained more weapons and defenses Shields, helmets, daggers, and slings. Most of the architecture was designed by the kings. Mausoleums, fire-temples, and palaces

Culture and intellectual Zoroastrainism influenced the beliefs and values of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. From the teachings of Zarathustra, who thought he was a prophet. Magi began to write down the texts The decline resulted in the loss of Avesta (their scriptures) Good people will enter Heaven, and demons to Hell A sizeable priests who conducted the rituals. Cyrus and Cabyses observed them. Alexander of Macedon killed many of the Magi.

Political Organization Sophisticated government led to the development of a new class of educated officials who had roles in the empire. State-owned slaves provided labor for large scale projects. Empire controlled the land in Mesopotamia, Egypt, Anatolia, and Northern India. Parthian’s capital city is Ctesiphon on the Euphrates River. Parthians frequently had many rebellions without success.
