3. Basic Storyline The Sea of Monsters is a part of the series of books by Rick Riordan that is based on Greek Mythology but with a “modern” twist.

4. Half-Bloods The series of books is based on the Children of the Greek Gods who are called “demigods” or “half-bloods” because they are half mortal and half immortal. The half-bloods or demigods spend their summer at camp, Camp Half-Blood. Each demigod or half-blood is assigned, at different times, to go to the Oracle to receive a prophecy.

11. Importance Thalia’s tree protects the camp, but the tree is dying. It was poisoned by Luke. Only the Golden Fleece can save Thalia’s tree by restoring health. Without the tree, the camp is attacked by underworld characters. The whole point of the quest is to find the Golden Fleece, and find their friend, Grover.

12. Life’s Challenges Along the way, Percy and his friends face many challenges and obstacles. Chiron, the camp activities director, was originally suspected of poisoning Thalia’s tree. He didn’t do it but people thought he did. Percy wants to prove the Chiron did not do it. Percy, Annabeth, and Tyson sneak away from camp to help Grover. They tried their best too help.

13. the end of the story Percy was sleeping until Grover leaps into his room. He said, “Annabeth is hurt!It was her turn to be guarding the tree!” So they went to the tree. A huge crowd had gathered. Annabeth was sitting on the ground. A girl was laying on the ground nearby. She was goth looking. Percy had never seen her at camp but he had dreamed of her once. He picked her up asked her for her name,and her response was, “Thalia, daughter of Zeus.”

14. Saving the Tree By saving the tree, Percy and his friends had done much more. Once the tree was saved, Thalia came from the tree. Thalia is the daughter of Zeus, a very powerful God,(one of the “Big 3” along with Poseidon and Hades).
