During a great battle between Israel and the Philistines, the Ark of God is captured Samuel4-6 The Ark Captured 1 Samuel 5:1-6 5 After the Philistines had captured the ark of God, they took it from Ebenezer to Ashdod. 2 Then they carried the ark into Dagon’s temple and set it beside Dagon. 3 When the people of Ashdod rose early the next day, there was Dagon, fallen on his face on the ground before the ark of the L ORD ! They took Dagon and put him back in his place. 4 But the following morning when they rose, there was Dagon, fallen on his face on the ground before the ark of the L ORD ! His head and hands had been broken off and were lying on the threshold; only his body remained. 5 That is why to this day neither the priests of Dagon nor any others who enter Dagon’s temple at Ashdod step on the threshold. 6 The L ORD ’s hand was heavy on the people of Ashdod and its vicinity; he brought devastation on them and afflicted them with tumors.

19. 16 As the ark of the L ORD was entering the City of David, Michal daughter of Saul watched from a window. And when she saw King David leaping and dancing before the L ORD, she despised him in her heart.

20. 20 When David returned home to bless his household, Michal daughter of Saul came out to meet him and said, “How the king of Israel has distinguished himself today, going around half-naked in full view of the slave girls of his servants as any vulgar fellow would!” 21 David said to Michal, “It was before the L ORD, who chose me rather than your father or anyone from his house when he appointed me ruler over the L ORD ’s people Israel—I will celebrate before the L ORD. But by these slave girls you spoke of, I will be held in honor.”
