When you share equally, you divide. You can divide by making equal groups. Three children want to share 12 counters equally. How many counters does each child get? Step 1 Step 2 Step 3 Start with 12 counters. Make 3 groups. Use 3 spaces on the workmat. Put 1 counter in each space to share.
