RESEARCH-BASED Research has been conducted that is valid and replicable that a given strategy will cause a given outcome. BEST PRACTICES Those research and evidence-based strategies that produce activities and ideas that engage students and motivate them to learn.

WHAT TO LOOK FOR IN EVIDENCE- BASED STRATEGIES Evidence-based practices should have a consistent and overwhelming number of usages where it has been implemented and led to an increase in student learning and outcomes that are observable and measurable.

SUMMARY Evidence-based instruction is important because it can increase student acquisition of knowledge and student engagement in your program. While not all evidence-based instruction is research-based, you should consider using instruction that has both and is considered best practice.
