3 Company History  GameStop was originally a store called Babbage‘s, which was a small store that sold software located in Texas.  Through many mergers, Babbage’s evolved into GameStop.  At a point in time Barnes & Noble purchased GameStop.  In late 2004, GameStop reclaimed itself by purchasing 6,000,000 shares of stock.  In 2005, GameStop acquired Electronics Boutique (EB Games), which was a rival in the business.  The most recent event was the purchasing of Rhino Video Games from Blockbuster in 2007.
