Pathways to Teaching Mathematics in the Middle School 1.Add-on to existing Multiple Subject Teaching Credential ZSubject Matter Authorization: 32 units college level math ZSingle Subject Credential in Foundational Mathematics (SSFM): CSET I & II, secondary math methods course 2.Obtain new Single Subject Teaching Credential ZSSFM: CSET I & II (in addition to all other credential requirements) ZFull credential: CSET I, II, & III (in addition to all other credential requirements)

Specialized Content Courses for Teachers–Benefits ZProvides alternative sequence for 32 units needed for Subject Matter Authorization ZIncludes content needed for CSET exams ZExplores content in ways appropriate for teaching secondary mathematics (e.g., focus on concepts) ZModels/examines some teaching strategies for middle school mathematics (e.g., integrate technology and cooperative projects)
