2 2 Recommendation TFI 2007 WHO, UNICEF and partners should support countries to intensify their communication activities and to develop communication indicators to be systematically used in polio eradication activities in all countries. Progress towards achieving these indicators should be presented at the 2008 TFI meeting

11 11 Follow-up to meeting Countries to complete their draft indicator tables developed during meeting and submit them to UNICEF/WCARO by next week. (Niger to organize an in-country meeting to finish their indicator table and send to UNICEF/WCARO by April 18.) Facilitators to send base indicator request to countries by end April. Countries to submit responses by end May. Countries to send update on status of implementation of their indicators by end June and end October to UNICEF/WCARO WCARO to compile data and prepare report/presentation for TFI by end November.

12 12 About recommendations … All the countries have requested inter- agency technical support to strengthen RI and polio communication strategic plans, including indicators

13 13 Perspectives 2008 in WCAR Data (collection, analysis and use) Indicators (regular update and systematic use) Quality communication micro plans (social mapping, community participation…) Secured budget for long term and large scale communication interventions Budget for communication consultants in Chad and DRC Secured budget for regular country support from UNICEF Regional Office; Capacity Building workshops on Communication for CSD (including Immunisation) in WCARO Enhance of inter agency partnership
