Purpose of Website “The site will be designed to provide a personalised and interactive mean of informing users of the risks they might be taking by their current lifestyle patterns”

What does this mean? We want the session on our website to be personal and different to every user who logs on There will be no generalisation and large amounts of text that the user has to sort through to find out what risks they are at. Our site will do the work for them

How will we do this? The opening page will contain a quick survey The user will enter personal information, e.g weight, height etc Using JavaScript we will process this information, calculating BMI and comparing the entered information to the risk parameters given in ABS report.

What will the user gain? The information entered will be processed and the only the diseases that they at risk of will be displayed, according to their current condition and habits Information on diseases Advice Training Programs Eating Plans

Target Audience We will be targeting an adult audience (20- 60) as these are the people most at risk of dying and are at ages where it is not to late to turn around their health conditions

Philosophy of the Website We want to force the relevant information onto the user, so they are somewhat confronted with the risks they are taking Easy and simple to use and navigate

What will it be called? AmIatRisk.com.au

Why? Fits with purpose and philosophy of being personal and confronting to the user Quite catchy and easy to remember

Content Outline – Main Page The main page will be the one that users first see when they load up the website. It is used as a template for all the pages on the website via CSS, to give consistency. The left hand pane will have links to all the articles and editorials on the website, the right hand pane will have all the tools that the user can utilize.

Course Outline – Registration The website allows the user to create an account where all the information relating to their new lifestyle plan are stored. Information will be stored in a database containing name, email address, height, weight, and will calculate BMI (Body Mass Index) that will be used for other sections

Course Outline – Registration(2) The registration process will also contain a second page of short quiz questions where the user can outline previous/current medical conditions, current diet and lifestyle habits and any other relevant information that will help shape their new lifestyle plan

Content Outline – Health Information This section of the website is dedicated to providing general information in the form of articles or editorials about weight loss and factors that influence the start of the plan, along with factors that may affect its progress.

Course Outline – Health Issues/Risk Factors Health issues and Risk Factors contain pages that outline some of the common issues that surround the need to change the user’s lifestyle, such as diseases like diabetes, cardiovascular disease and hypertension. Some of the causes of these issues can range from smoking and drinking to lack of or inconsistent exercise. Each of these issues are outlined on separate pages.

Course Outline – Health Issues/Risk Factors (2) Health issues will also contain webpages that outline risk factors common amongst Australians and outlines the groups of users that are most at risk of a particular disease.

Course Outline – Health Advisory The health advisory section of the website is the more interactive side, it uses information that was collected from the user during the registration process to show customised information that relates best to the user’s needs

Course Outline – Health Advisory(2) Some of the features of the health advisory include a healthy eating guide, recommended exercise guide, BMI Calculator and also helpful information regarding when to seek professional medical advice from a doctor or GP.
