8. You call us to be prophets to read the signs of the times in light of our faith.

9. You call us to respond to the needs of our world with a steadfast voice and an unwavering heart.

10. by the very lifestyles we lead. You call us to be witnesses to your truth

11. So we pray that you bless us today.

12. so that they may be open for us to see that a new world is possible. Bless our eyes

13. So that we may be attentive to your word as it is spoken around us Bless our ears

14. So that they may be ready to receive new ideas and open to new possibilities Bless our minds.

15. So that they may be ready to do your work, to build your kingdom here and now Bless our hands.

16. So that they may be disturbed and encouraged to strive for a world where human dignity is respected Bless our hearts.

17. And may the Holy Spirit give us the resolve to become leaders for today, so that together we can build a better world for tomorrow. We make this prayer through Christ our Lord. Amen
