How to Help at Home Reading -having your child recognize letters in their environment -read aloud to your child -listen to your child read their “just right” books -have your child practice high frequency words -have your child practice reading “just right” books multiple times -encourage your child to use multiple word solving strategies -encourage your child to talk about their books

How to help at home Writing -Have your child: -drawing pictures -make lists -label areas, items in the home -keep a writing notebook -write letters to family members -create their own stories What about spelling? Handwriting?
