Services Services entity: Metadata about the various services and products to which institutions subscribe and have access to. –Service entity: non-specific metadata about a service. –Service instance entity: metadata about a particular instance of a service, for example a cd-rom version, or a web-based version.

Resources “ Resources” have a ‘child’ relationship to the HeadLine “Services”. Resources entity: metadata about –a particular Journal –an FAQ list –Product Documentation

Instances of Availability Individual Resource entity: metadata which is general and non-specific to any instance of a resource. Resource Instance entity: metadata about a particular instance of a resource. A particular journal title may be available: in full-text (last five years), via a web based service as abstracts only (last ten years), on a cd-rom in hard copy (last twelve years), in the library depth + date range + medium

Access Restrictions Access Metadata is contained within the Service Instance Entity. –accesstype values: none ippermissioned ipgeneric generic individual
