2 Introduction Computer and internet have changed our lives and even our society since they were first introduced. Computers created the "information age", where huge amounts of data could be processed. The Internet has brought even more drastic changes. Using your computer, you can "go online", and access the Worldwide Web (WWW).

3 Computers A system wherein its parts perform a unified job of receiving inputs, process the information and transform into a new kind of result.

4 Computers Advantages : it allows learner control Can cater to special needs Has records keeping ability Can manage different types of information Can provide divers experiences Limitations: Novelty effect Copyright issues Social interaction may be limited Creativity may be stifled in computerized instruction

5 Internet Internet is the world-wide network of interconnected computer that operates using a standardized set of communication.

6 Web 2.0 (Buan, 2008) It is the use of interactive technology that aims to enhance creativity, information-sharing, and collaboration among users.

7 Wiki A type of website that allows anyone or only designated members to edit its content.

8 Blog The abbreviation word for weblog, it is a web-based journal where individuals can publish their thoughts and opinions on the internet.

9 Online Collaborative Websites These allows individuals to create or upload on the web where they can then be edited using familiar formatting tools.

10 Media Sharing A social networking with platform and diversified interferences that allows users to upload, compress, distribute images, text, audio, video, and other applications.

11 Social Bookmarking social bookmarking is saving bookmarks to a public website and tagging them with keywords.

12 Drawbacks of Web 2.0 Tools 1. content must be edited online 2. people may be contribute inappropriate content 3. content can be lost if you revert to a previous version

13 Web-Enhanced learning Activities (Arnito,2005)  Online Treasure Hunt is an online inquiry-base activity developed by Tom March with the aim of developing knowledge of a specific topic in the curriculum.

14 Online Treasure Hunt Components: a. brief introduction b. question about a topic c. web resources where one can find the answers to the question listed d. a concluding activity wherein students will answer the Big question

15 Online Treasure Hunt Benefits: a. develops mastery of the topic b. develops reading skills c. fosters active learning d. Develops skill in analysis and synthesis through the Big Question e. develops creativity since students synthesize information using various formats

16 Web-Enhanced learning Activities (Arnito,2005)  WebQuest is an online inquiry-base activity developed by Bernie Dodge and Tom March in 1995 at the San Diego State University.

17 WebQuest Elements of WebQuest 1. introduction- an engaging first statement that draws the reader in while setting the stage for the webquest. 2. task- a doable and interesting mission that revolves around an open-ended question 3. process- describe step-by-step how the learners will accomplish the task; 4. resources- web and other resources for students to use to be able to accomplish the task 5. evaluation- shows or explain how students will be evaluated.
