What will you Find The actual Computer The Power Cord (Comes in two parts.)

How to begin… If you are at home, plug in the AC Adapter in order to conserve on the battery power. To turn on the computer, open the top and push the power button at the top right hand side of the keyboard. Once it boots up, you will see a desktop with icons for the various programs available.

What happens if… You leave it alone for more than a few minutes. – The screen will go black and will hibernate. Just move the mouse a little or touch a key and it will come right back to where it was when you left if alone.

Beginning your work Use your finger to make the curser move over the desired program. Double click the left button in order to open the program. Use the program as you would on any other computer. Mouse pad

Saving your work You will not be permitted to save any of your work on the computers C drive. You will be required to have a disc or a flash drive.

When you save… Go to the File menu and click on “Save As” Drop down the menu for “Save In” – If you have a disc, go to DVD-RW Drive (E:) – If you have a flash drive, go to Local Disk (D:)

To Finish Saving your Work The DVD-RW drive is located on the right hand side of the computer. Simply push the little button and the door opens up a bit for you to slide your disc into the computer. The USB Port for your Flash Drive is also located on the right side of the computer. Just plug your drive into the port.

Before you Finish Don’t forget to take the Flash Drive or the Disk out of the Computer. Close out the program that you were using. Press the Power Button, a dialog will appear on screen asking if you want to shut down, reboot, or hibernate the computer, select “shut down” and wait for the computer to turn off. Unplug the AC adapter and store in the Computer case properly. Return to the library in the same manner that you received the computer.
