UNEP/GEF WIO-LaB Project17 Nairobi Convention Clearinghouse Mechanism Activities undertaken so far: 1.Development of an Information Management Strategy for the Eastern Africa Coastal and Marine Regional CHM 2.Workshop on the Development of a CHM on the Eastern African Coastal and Marine Environment: 9-11 May 2006, Nairobi 3.Appointment of National CHM Focal Institutions (NFI) and establishment of National Working Groups 4.Development of basic CHM system/infrastructure 5.Individual country visits to each NFI by UNEP/DEWA 6.Training workshop on the development of the Nairobi Convention CHM, 13-17 August 2007, Mauritius 7.Establishment of Memorandums of Understanding and Procurement of servers for each of the Focal Institutions 8.Official launch of the CHM during the 5 th Conference of Parties of the Nairobi Convention
