8. Method Recap A useful method to use when summarising is identifying the key points first. Use a highlighter pen to make the text stand out, or underline the key words/sentences. Draw up a list of key words/sentences.

9. MAIN POINTS To find the relevant information from material you are reading it is a good idea to highlight or underline the main points that carry the information. Pick out the main points in the following example:
