LC-CEAL Cataloging Internship Program a Progress Report April 2008 by Joy Kim Chair, Task Force on LC-CEAL Cataloging Internship Program

Goal Began in 2007 on a trial basis to provide training opportunities to CEAL members who dont have training support from their employers

2008 Applicants Task Force received two applications & recommended both; LC hopes to arrange for internships with both nominees. Jee-Young Park, Korean, a 2007 graduate, works for the Intercultural Institute of California in San Francisco whose library has 10,000 volumes. She is the only full time librarian there. Shelley Wei Ching Sii, Chinese, 3 years of cataloging experience, a 2006 graduate. Works for a seminary with 13,000 Chinese books
