10. Smartcard Changes UIM2 – is in development due Autumn 2014 –‘CareID’ but confirmation of this new name is yet to be agreed. Information from smartcards will be transferred to UIM2, ready for existing systems to be switched off in December. Processes will need to be revised but e-learning training will be available from HSCIC to support sponsors. A communication plan is being developed by the Project Manager for UIM2 Recommendation: Arrange smartcards now!
