Freefall Motion for which the only force acting is the force of gravity. It can be moving up or down. (Air friction is negligible) Negligible – So insignificant as to be unworthy of consideration
2
Objects in freefall all have the same constant acceleration even though the force of gravity is different. FgFg FgFg a = -10 m/s 2

Example 1: A ball is thrown straight up from a height of 5 meters with an initial velocity of 30m/s. What is the maximum height of the ball? 30m/s 5m

Example 2: A ball is thrown straight up off a cliff with a velocity of 20m/s. How long will the ball be in the air and what will its velocity be just before it hits the ground? 20m/s v = 0m/s 12m
