2 Outline of Course Over the course of this year you will experience each of the units that you will need to pass next year in order to gain the award You will take part in introductory drama exercises to build confidence, skills and trust within the group. Throughout the year you will participate in workshops designed to enhance your acting skills. 3 Methods of Learning You will investigate relationships, issues and topics through devising your own drama work You will develop acting skills through practical workshops Through practical study of drama texts and visits to live theatre you will gain knowledge and understanding of drama and theatre arts Classes will be workshop based and supported self-study will be required You will gain knowledge in the history of theatre

4 Unit One: Drama Skills You will research a topic or issue as a group and devise a play. 6 Unit Three: Drama Production As a class you will study various scenes from a chosen text or texts and have the opportunity to either act the scenes or take on another theatre production role for the presentation. You will perform to an invited audience for your acting exam.

7 ASSESSMENT Assessment is on-going and you will need to satisfy various outcomes in order to pass each unit. These will be studied in detail in class.
