Agenda OTN TE info needed for LO ODU path computation
WSON TE info out of scope Interface Switching Capability Descriptor [RFC 4203] Info introduced into “Switching Capability-specific information” to introduce minor changes to the routing protocol Routing procedure as per [RFC 3630][RFC 4203] Compatibility considerations
4
OTN TE info needed for path computation (1/2)
Tributary slot type 1,25Gbps vs 2,5Gbps TE link type Different OTUk typeDifferent TS bandwidth ODUflex: The actual TS bandwidth of a TE link is useful to determine the number of TSs needed LO ODU signal type The equipments along a path could not be able to support all kinds of LO ODU. If a a path is requested for a certain ODU type, all the link not supporting such ODU types must not be taken into account during path computation.
5
OTN TE info needed for path computation (2/2)
TE link total bandwidth Unbundled link: depends on the type of OTU or HO ODU (deduced from total number of TSs). Bundled link: sum of the total bandwidth of the physical links composing the TE link. TE link unreserved bandwidth Defined as the sum of the unreserved bandwidths of the component links. Accounted through the unallocated TSs of the TE link. Maximum LSP bandwidth Component link with the maximum unreserved bandwidth 24x1,25Gbps + 20x1,25Gbps = 24x1,25Gbps Max LSP band
6
Interface Switching Capability Descriptor
New Switching Cap value to distinguish evolutive OTN from existing TDM networks (e.g. SDH) 110 – Evolved OTN Max LSP Bandwidth counted as number of TSs.
7
Switching Capability specific information (1/2)
T = Type of TSs 0 = 1,25Gbps, 1 = 2.5 Gbps OD(T)Uk = Type of TE link The server layer signal that the LO ODUs can be mapped or multiplexed into
8
Switching Capability specific information (1/2)
Signal Flags : LO ODU type supported by the TE link. Flag set = Corresponding LO ODU signal supported Total TS = Total number of TS inside the TE link Unreserved TS = Number of unreserved TS of the TE link
9
Compatibility considerations
When a node receives a LSA with Switching Capability type 110, the Maximum Bandwidth sub-TLV and Unreserved Bandwidth sub-TLV in this LSA, if present, SHOULD be ignored. The bandwidth information SHOULD be deduced from ISCD sub-TLV (i.e., Total TS, Unreserved TS). Legacy nodes that do not implement the extensions defined in this document are able to ignore the LSA containing an ISCD sub-TLV with the Switching Cap type 110, because it is an unknown value. They will continue to flood the LSA to other neighbors Information carried in this LSA will not be used.
