6. Random things to know I have been doing a fundraiser for years – Everything is a Dollar. – Pop Tarts – Water – Coffee – Hot Chocolate – IOU’s Need to be paid in about a week Do not need to be more than a couple of dollars The goal is to buy things for my class Tutorials (AP) @ 7:30 Everything we do in class will be posted on spacebair.wikispaces.com. Please write this on top of your folder which you need to show me by next week.

7. Rules 1) Don’t talk when Bair talks, and quickly get quiet when I start talking. – Beginning of class every day After the warm up I will go over it and tell you what is going on that day. Usually the warm up asks you to get something, or just to know something. I expect everyone to read it and follow instructions if there are any every day before the bell rings. – During lecture – Random instructions I will interrupt the class to tell you important things… If you hear me talking loud, get quiet quick. – During Tests 2) Get your work done

8. Procedures 1) Bathroom – Don’t tell me – Just grab the pass and go (bring the pass back!) 2) Tests – We will trade and grade. 3) Turning in work/tests – To the baskets on the wall. – Journals may be kept or put in a yellow folder on the lab table folder sorter. (we will make these) 5) Technology – Please bring your phones/ipads/laptops to class if you want but use them appropriately (use them to help you work).

9. Things you need for class Class supplies All students – A folder or something to keep your work in (you keep this), Box of Kleenex; Pack of bright colored paper; Pack of Red or Brown paper or construction paper (for a Mars project). – Even classes – Roll of paper towels, & pack of glue sticks. – Odd classes – pack of scotch tape.

10. Graphic Organizer Get a piece of white butcher paper about the size of your desks. In your group, put a circle in the middle of your page Put the course title in it (Astronomy)(Earth/Space Science) Make lines coming out of it and write everything you know about the topic at the end of the line and circle it. – If that point can be divided into smaller topics, expand the diagram. Things that you would like to know the most about, go back and color them in. – After you have written everything your table can think of use your phones or other internet enabled devices to look up current events or facts that pertain to those topics and write them in. Decide with your table on two questions you would like answers to at some point this year. Share your work and questions with the class.

11. Folders If time permits… Make a folder and decorate it. – It must have your full name and class period on it at the top of the front side. – It must be school appropriate – Decorate it with whatever you like. – If you want to bring pictures to tape to it you can, or if you want to take it home and decorate it you can. – I will laminate them Friday.
