7 Projects and Initiatives in Progress a) Synthesis of Practices for Environmental Management Systems (EMS) sponsored project: Presents EMS best practices, success stories and lessons learned Project has been completed and will be published in Fall 2008 Environment Council Work Program Overview

10 In Summary Council continues to successfully fulfill its mandate : Continuously liaising with regulators on transportation- related issues and regulations Addressing environmental issues related to planning, design, construction, operation and maintenance of transportation infrastructure Investigating potential projects Raising awareness of environmental issues within TAC membership, particularly on climate change Mandate complimented by Environmental Issues Management Standing Committee and Environmental Advisory and Legislation Standing Committee Environment Council
