Scenario Ms. Gliot’s beloved UNC mascot pillow pet, Rammy, had been stolen. There was bleating sounds coming from locker 201, which led to a police inspection. The police have recovered Rammy, and medical examiners determined he had no physical damage. Rammy is very shaken up from the kidnapping and is currently suffering from PTSD. Ms. Gliot would like nothing more than to find the kidnapper. She is even offering a reward if the proper party is brought to justice.

Judge 1.Read the John Marshall Article and Answer Questions http://www.biography.com/#!/people/john- marshall-9400148#synopsis 2.Come up with a list of creative punishments for the mock trial crime (Must be typed) 3.Write a paper (1/2 minimum) explaining your decision and why the punishment fits the crime

Jury 1. Read the different theories of how the accused in the Salem witch trial were truly innocent. Determine which theory you think to be the most true. Provide at least 5 complete sentences why that is the theory you believe to be true. 2. Make a decision which suspect is guilty. 3. Write a paper (1/2 page minimum) explaining how you reached your decision and why you believe that suspect is guilty.

Lawyers 1.Read the Aaron Burr Article. Make a table of why Aaron Burr was guilty and why he was innocent. Witnesses 1.Read the Wolf Case and Make a list of all witnesses and how they know the accused party. Reporters 1.Pick a newspaper article to read. http://www.dogonews.com/ 2. List 5 facts in the article and answer the following questions: 1. What is the main idea? 2. Is this a primary or secondary source? How do you know? 3. How will this help improve society or make a difference in the world? 3. Watch the trial and make an article with a picture (1 page minimum)

Write the steps it took to eventually make the teddy bear. (According the article) 3. Watch the court proceedings and type a list of steps that happened in the trial. The steps should be specific and in sentences.

Fact Checkers 1.Look at the page of pictures. Try to name each and tell what you think each does or how they are used. 2.Examine the bags of evidence and make a typed log with the categories : item, time of finding, where is it found, observations about item
