Why SunCycle? Best Research Solar Cell Efficiencies
3
III-V Solar cells
4
Why concentrators? 1. Replacing semiconductor material by cheap components 2. High efficiency by using III-V solar cells 3. Resulting in a lower cost per kWh
5
Examples of concentrators Mirrors in AustraliaLenses in Spain
6
Concentrator - issue To follow the moving sun, a heavy and accurate tracking system is required: it is costly and can not be applied in the residential area
7
SunCycle solved that issue One axis tracking allows for a static structure → installation in the residential area → thermal energy applications
8
How does it work?
9
How does it look? Traditional tracking CPV system SunCycle’s solution: internal tracking
10
Production of the components III-V cell: commercial available Injection molded housing components Mirror: injection molded PC; aluminum coated Prism: injection molded PMMA; Solar Grade The components are comparable to those in headlamps of cars : The function is inverse.
11
Benefit for the customer thermal energy ideal for sunny, residential areas well recyclable; low EPBT high electrical efficiency
