2 Debbie Fischer - About Me… This is my fifth year at Stayer Middle School I’ve taught in QCSD for 14 years at second and fourth grade levels, then Math and Reading here at Strayer I have a Masters in Education from West Chester University And a Masters in Educational Leadership from Delaware Valley College I live in Chalfont with my husband and three daughters ages 6,10, and 15

3 Mrs. Sturges – About Me… I’ve taught in QCSD for 12 years. I am certified to teach middle school Math, English and Science. I taught in East Stroudsburg for 4 years and in New Jersey for 4 years. I have a Masters in Education from East Stroudsburg University. I live in Spinnerstown with my husband and 7 year old daughter and 6 year old son. I love games and enjoy spending time with my family. 5 What Happens in ELA Daily Warm Up: Editing and Grammar; practice previous skills taught and happens while the students arrive and get ready for class Review: Review previous lesson, Check Homework Main lesson: Introduction of Learning Target, Strategy or Skill from the consumable Springboard Book (book stays in class – online book is available) Class Practice: Independent and/or with small group work, Chance for more specific help and attention. Closing: Wrap up thoughts back to the Learning Target, Complete Agenda Books for Assigned Homework (see homework board)

6 Classroom Policies Homework – Given weekly should be a preview, a review or practice of skills and strategies recently taught. Challenging Homework ? – Bring back in and show that you’ve tried. Write a note on the work email about your child’s struggle. 8 How You Can Help At Home Check the Parent Portal regularly Homework posted on Website Even when no homework is posted 10 – 15 minutes of notes review, extra Independent reading or rereading, and vocabulary practice is always helpful.
