Princess Diana’s Early Life Birth name- Diana Frances Spencer Born on July 1, 1961 in Norfolk, England She was born to Spencer, Viscount Althorp and Frances Viscountess Althorp Princess Diana as a baby Princess Diana as a child

AIDS Awareness In April 1987, Princess Diana became the first “high- profile” celebrity to touch a person infected with HIV Thanks to that act of kindness, Princess Diana changed the public’s opinions of patients with AIDS She also made unannounced visits to terminally ill AIDS patients

Landmines Campaigns She served as an International Red Cross VIP volunteer and visited landmine survivors in hospitals Attended mine awareness education classes She also had a big influence on the signing by the gov. of the UK and other nations of the Ottawa Treaty in December 1997 This created an international ban on the use of anti-personnel landmines Princess Diana with landmine victims Princess Diana in landmine fields

Death Princess Diana died on August 31, 1997 She died in a car accident in the Pont de l'Alma road tunnel in Paris, France Her companion Dodi Fayed and the driver of the car, Henri Paul also died Princess Diana’s Funeral Actual car crash

Death A jury decided that Princess Diana was unlawfully killed by negligent driving of chauffeur Henri Paul and paparazzi photographers Many people claim that the crash was a conspiracy

Legacy Princess Diana was a humanitarian and succeeded in making the world a better place She was involved in AIDS awareness She was also involved in many charity works for children who were underprivileged, drug abused,and who were suffering from an illness
