Locations and Contexts Henri liked to go out onto the the streets of Paris, France and take pictures. He took pictures of most of the things other photographers could not get. He wanted to communicate through his photographs what he thought and felt about what he saw.

Clientele Henri’s clientele were ordinary people. He would go out onto the streets of Paris and take photographs of the citizens of Paris. He liked to take pictures of the things people normally don’t think to take pictures of.

Personal style Henri loved to take pictures of everyday life. He liked to be the one behind the camera instead of the one in front of the camera. He loved to capture the little things that most people over look. When he was younger he had a Box Brownie that hey used to take holiday pictures with. He preferred to use the narrow 35 mm viewfinder.

Interesting things Was one of the founders and the former president of Magnum. Which was a cooperative picture agency of New York and Paris. Henri Cartier-Bresson hated being photographed. When he graduated from Oxford he held a piece of paper in front of his face to avoid being photographed. He stated that he hated being photographed, “primarily because he does not want to be photographed for his popularity or fame. Its not necessarily that he hates being photographed. Pictures of Henri Cartier-Bresson are quite rare.
