ELPA Window closes end of day on Tuesday 4/15. As of 3/10: 36,905 submitted of 43,093 started. ELPA Test Specifications and Blueprints have been updated and posted Most important update in those documents is the improvement of “item type exemption” for ELSWDs.
8
ELPA Reminder about ELPA help desk tickets – if there is an issue with audio or recording of the ELPA speaking items, students should not be testing. If an ELPA is submitted by a student, even with imperfect speaking responses, that ELPA will not be re-opened. ELPA Batch 1 is scheduled to be available in Student- Centered Staging on Friday 3/13. That batch is still under review by ODE, and if there are any potential issues, it will not post on time.
9
ELPA IMPORTANT: The ELPA domain exemption codes from 2013-14 are in the student records in TIDE. These MUST be checked prior to a student testing. It is a test impropriety to administer an ELPA with incorrect domain exemptions. The 2014-15 domain exemptions must match the IEP that is in force on the day that the ELPA is started by the student. Please note: we have requested that our test vendor clear all domain exemptions at the end of this school year. For 2015, the student information in TIDE regarding ELPA domain exemptions will be blank. With ELPA21 coming online for 2015-16, ODE will review the domain exemption policy if necessary.
10
ELPA 21 The ELPA21 field test is in full swing. Participating DTCs, STCs, and TAs must do the training modules on the ELPA21 website and sign ODEs test assurance form prior to testing. There is an opportunity to join the range-finding committee for ELPA21. Participants from previous ELPA21 events were emailed an invitation to apply for a number of opportunities.

Smarter Balanced: Accessibility Reminder: If a student requires certain accessibility supports (ASL, Braille, Spanish-Stacked English, embedded glossaries for math, etc.), on the Smarter Balanced Performance Tasks, these settings need to be set in TIDE 48 hours ahead of testing (not from the TA interface). Otherwise, the student may not receive a Performance Task with the necessary accommodations. Update: Effective immediately, the Read Aloud non- embedded accommodation is allowed in Grades 3-5 for all ELA reading passages for the 2014-2015 Smarter Balanced summative assessment administration.

Smarter Balanced: Classroom Activity Assignment Smarter Balanced Classroom Activities and Performance Tasks assigned based on the student’s attending school in TIDE. Contact their Regional ESD Partner to have an individual student’s classroom activity re-assigned for: Students in Grades 3 – 7 that are targeting up Students that move after the testing window has opened and have already started their Performance Task Students that move after the testing window has opened and the new school has done the classroom activity and the student has already done the previous school’s classroom activity Students in an off-site classroom or program where the off-site school does not have its own Institution ID and Attending Institution IDs differ by student Best practice: avoid double-testing transfer students by verifying whether they already have an in-progress or completed performance task: Check in with the student Check in the Online Reporting System Please contact your Regional ESD Partner with questions.Regional ESD Partner
