3 EYC: The partners Tomlinscote School & 6 th Form College Number of students: 1508 Associated Partner: Surrey Chambers of Commerce Robert-Bosch-Gymnasium, Wendlingen, Germany Gymnasium (Grammar School) Number of students: 880 Trefort Ágoston Kéttannyelvű Középiskola, Budapest, Hungary Bilingual Vocational School Number of students: 1680 Associated Partner: Trefort Foundation for European Citizenship

4 EYC: The objectives  Introduce and support the YC in both partner schools  Establish the EYC between the three partner schools  Initiate EYC projects within the schools and communities  Be an inspiration to other institutions  Equip students with communication, diplomatic and organisational skills  Financial awareness, mathematical and business studies skills  Develop an awareness of different cultures and languages, and the ability to function in an international environment

5 EYC: Why?  Lack of ‘real life’ learning in schools  Allow students to develop lifelong skills  The need to foster a sense of European Citizenship and responsibility

6 EYC: Partner responsibilities All Partner Schools  Select target group and travelling group  Hold information sessions for students and staff  Monitor progress  Advertising EYC in school and local area  Language provision for students  Proposing new ideas

7 EYC: Partner responsibilities Co-ordinating School  Introduce YC to each school  Monitoring each YC  Delegating tasks  Blog

8 EYC: Who?  High student involvement – mostly student led  Tomlinscote YC and as many members of staff as possible - ICT - Business - MFL - Graphics - Mathematics - Careers

9 EYC: Trips  Proposed visits: November 2008 - Hungarian and German YCs visit England May 2009 – EYC meets in Budapest October 2009 – EYC meets in Germany July 2010 – EYC meets in England
