Protect & Control Patent: government helps inventors & innovators of technology protect and control the use of their ideas for a limited time Copyright: form of protection provided to the authors of "original works of authorship" including literary, dramatic, musical, artistic, and certain other intellectual works, both published and unpublished Trademark: used to protect a word, symbol, device, or name that is used in commerce

Statistical Data Qualitative Deals with descriptions Data can be observed but not measured Colors, textures, smells, tastes, appearance, beauty, etc. Qualitative → Quality Quantitative Deals with numbers Data which can be measured Length, height, area, volume, weight, speed, time, temperature, humidity, sound levels, cost, members, ages, etc. Quantitative → Quantity
