3 3 YEAR IN REVIEW: Highlights YEAR IN REVIEW: Highlights   Successful 2014 conference concluded in Springfield, Illinois   NADE and SSA continue to have ongoing dialogue throughout the year to address issues of mutual interests   NADE continues to have ongoing communications with SSA, OMB, SSAB, GAO, Congress, Administrative Conference of the United States (ACUS), Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget (CRFB), NASI, NAS-IOM, and others   NADE was a Presenter at a National Conference hosted by American Enterprise Institute and Brookings Institution   NADE Mid-Year Board of Directors meeting was in Baltimore   NADE is an active participant in National Disability Advocates Conference Calls hosted quarterly by SSA

4 4 YEAR IN REVIEW: Highlights   NADE President, President-elect and Legislative Director met privately with SSA Commissioner and congressional staff to advocate for issues and concerns expressed by NADE members. NADE President found an honest man in D.C.   NADE prepared and submitted responses, based on member input, for NPRMs and ANPRMs on hematological disorders, expanding the list of acceptable medical sources, and the new musculoskeletal listings.   NADE decided on locations for our 2016 and 2017 National Training Conferences, to be held in Denver, Colorado and Detroit, Michigan, respectively   NADE was invited to serve on an Advisory Committee for the National Academy of Social Insurance: Working Together: An Initiative to Improve Services and Supports for Persons with Disabilities.   NADE is ending 2015 with another great conference in Portland, Oregon

10 10   Need to continue membership growth and retention   Completion of 501 c (3) tax filing (need for Chapters to complete their own filing for non-profit incorporation status within their respective states and obtain EIN)   New NADE website coming January 1, 2016   Need for new income resources   Increased support from SSA for attendance at NADE training conferences   Need to increase NADE’s interaction and collaboration with other groups and organizations, e.g., NASI, Brookings Institution, American Enterprise Institute, the National Academies Institute of Medicine, etc. What Does the Future Hold For NADE?

What Does the Future Hold For NADE?   Need to restore State and Regional Training Conferences   Need to continue advance planning for National Training Conference   Need to continue professional relationship with SSA, Congress and others with whom we seek to engage in a national dialogue about the current status of, and future of, the disability program   “I couldn’t find the sports car of my dreams – so I built it myself!” - Ferdinand Porsche NADE is what is it today because of what we have done. But it will become what we make it tomorrow because of what we will do! Let’s work together to make it great!   “One person can make a difference – and everyone should try!” – President John F. Kennedy Every NADE member has, within themselves, the power to make a difference. NADE gives you that opportunity.
