In this workshop, we will consider biblical guidelines and contemporary applications for training leaders. Then, more importantly, we will experience them!

Lessons Learned from Church Planting, especially in the Global South: Leadership training must: Be inclusive. Use Training Materials for standardization. Involve Socratic Discussion. Be application/competency-oriented with Assessment. Be church-based for rapid multiplication. Be affordable. Be multi-level to impact spiritual children, parents, etc.

Curricular Features “Study the Scriptures.” “Consult the Scholars.” True workbooks, not “fill-in-the-blanks” (pre- and post-discussion). Socratic discussion led by church leaders. “Apply the Principles.”

Let’s Try It! Break into groups of no more than 6. Assign one leader to facilitate. Use the outline we’ll give you to read and discuss the scripture. If you have time, continue past the scripture to review commentary and other questions as well.
