3 Stage Two: Initiation In this stage, innocence is lost in a variety of ways… 1. Death: Most common way innocence lost. Most common way innocence lost. Future looks chaotic, dangerous, illogical…

5 Stage Three: Chaos Character feels denial or nostalgia for lost innocence. Character feels denial or nostalgia for lost innocence. He/ she either retreats back to innocence OR He/ she either retreats back to innocence OR Character gains wisdom of nature of good v. evil with which to confront future. Move beyond initiatory experience and despite a belief that future only holds more suffering. Challenge of character’s life? 6 Stage Four: Resolution This is where real heroes are made! They move on not in spite of realization of death or unrequited love, but because of it. This is where real heroes are made! They move on not in spite of realization of death or unrequited love, but because of it. Hero has wisdom of experience and a fuller, wider vision of world.
