12. POLITICALLY African countries were not able to create their own national governments while under colony rule When countries gained their independence, their governments were new and had lots to learn about ruling a nation

14. SOCIALLY Under colony rule, the borders that were drawn often ignored human geography. Sometimes the borders separated members of one ethic group, and other times borders grouped people together that did not get along.

15. In order to gain independence, many colonies had to fight against their ruling country for freedom Sometimes, once independence was won, fights among the ethnic groups would begin, causing tension and many problems for the newly developing nation
