7,224 clients received prescriptions valued at nearly $14 million 2,504 clients were connected to primary medical care; 2,243 to oral health care 86% of women who completed a domestic violence support group showed decreased symptoms as a result Of immigration cases in which a decision was reached in FY13, 97% were approved in favor of our clients

98% of Healthy Families kids had a health care provider; 97% remained up to date on their immunizations 100% of at-risk youth did not become gang-involved; 83% of those already gang-involved reduced their involvement 78% of foster children were discharged into permanent families

1,193 people were served by our Early Head Start programs; 848 were served by the Head Start program 86% of Head Start kids entering Arlington Public Schools met or exceeded the expected range for rising kindergartners 2,742 families (or nearly 9,000 people) received food, allowing them to focus on the other challenges in their lives

21,408 individual cases 36,765 total people served This 25% increase over last year is due in large part to our successful merger with the Hispanic Committee of Virginia 48% of all individual cases we handled were in Fairfax County, but the highest “total people served” was in Prince William County where food and financial assistance often help entire families 63,463 volunteer hours valued at over $1,500,000, including >1,300 hours donated by our Board of Directors

63% of all people served identified as “Hispanic” 82% of households earned <150% of the federal poverty guidelines; 6 in 10 households were at or below 100% One-quarter of those we serve are 18 years old or younger The languages our clients speak reflect the diversity of this region; Spanish is first, followed by English, Arabic, Amharic and French The percentage of clients served in Loudoun County grew significantly due to the oral health and medication access programs there Households of 7+ members more than doubled since last year

Just 3 people met all of the hiring, benefits, training & other human resources needs of 350 of their coworkers. A tiny IT team managed all of our computers, servers & telephones. Finance processed thousands of checks & ensured we all got paid! Our two Thrift Stores had record sales, creating “unrestricted” revenue that helps other parts of NVFS. A dedicated Operations team managed all NVFS offices, housing units & vehicles AND opened a brand-new thrift store. Development ran multiple drives & events– including the most successful Annual Gala ever– while managing 3,856 volunteers! The Strategic Information team “landed us on M.A.R.S.” just in time to start the new fiscal year.

Fiscal Year 2013 was an epic year. Every one of the results you just watched over the last four minutes was accomplished in just one year by the people right here in this room. You deserve to roar with pride!!
