10 Graduate School - Work Course requirements (on the web) Thesis 1 or more research papers (or equivalent) 50+ pages Dissertation 3 or more research papers 100+ pages Subject to Major Professor’s requirements!!!!

11 Graduate School – Thesis/Dissertation Format as required by Graduate School Submit a draft before the final version Two Styles (Major Professor’s choice): A collection of published papers, plus introduction, background, conclusions chapters A separate document

12 Publication Process Subject to your Major Professor! Journals and conferences have (fairly) clearly defined styles guidelines Submit the paper – usually electronically Editor assigns 2-3 reviewers Wait Based on reviews editor decides: accept, reject, revise You get to see the reviews Plan to resubmit
