2 What have we decided already? Friday night event Live medley of entertainment ‘Tell the story’ of St George Using the Town Hall Shorter, good quality event

3 Friday Night suggestions 2.5 hour limit, with interval Each item tells another part of the story/history of St George’s legend Variety… something for the young, parents, elderly… a mix of music

4 The Story… A town was terrorised by a dragon A young princess was offered to the dragon When George heard about this he rode into the village George slayed the dragon and rescued the princess

5 Proposals (Set list) Medieval music whilst people take their seats Compeer telling the story / linking it to Walsall A town was terrorised by a dragon - contemporary performance A young princess was offered to the dragon – Standing choir INTERVAL – seating change-around When George heard about this he rode into the village – Acoustic (maybe spanish guitar?) George slayed the dragon and rescued the princess – Brass Band Jerusalem to finish

6 Organisers / helpers in medieval dress Pre-selling tickets as well as on the door Bar open for pre-drinks and during the interval Medieval music to play in and out with John Parrot – Works at Forest Arts Centre, is nationally recognised for his musical production / organisation Local celebrity – to introduce and conclude the events Be different!!! Effort is recognised, innovation gets seen…MEDIA COVERAGE Advertising strategy Other Suggestions

7 Budget – Initial Outlay… Pre-printing the tickets Posters / programmes / paraphernalia Gimmicks (to get people along) The town hall?
