6 Do’s and Don’ts Do  Read and follow the directions  Pay attention to deadlines  Make a check list of items needed for reference  Write legibly/type slowly  Proofread  Be descriptive when listing activities  Highlight your top achievements  Print out a copy of your submitted on-line application  Brainstorm topics and ideas before writing essay  Use contacts your School Counselor has on file for Admissions Reps  Sign where appropriate (online too!) Don’t  Procrastinate  Have your parents fill out the application  Fill out 20 applications!  Send Georgia Tech an essay that says “I’ve always dreamed of being a bulldawg!”  Use slang or clichés  Be arrogant  Send more items than needed/requested  Expect instant status update on admissions website  Submit the on-line application at 11:59pm on the due date
